Argos complaints: who to contact and how to follow up
Create a personalised complaint letter asking for the outcome that fits your case — such as a refund, replacement or compensation where appropriate.
ParcelClaim is independent and is not Argos. You can use Argos’s official complaint routes for free. This page focuses on contacting the retailer and seeking review of an unresolved complaint.
Official Argos complaint & contact options
Chat and telephone
Use Chat now on Argos Contact us or call 0345 640 2020. The telephone service is listed as available daily, 8am–8pm.
Store purchases or collections
Argos recommends returning to any Argos store for help with something bought or collected in store. Take the receipt or collection details.
Accessible contact options
Argos’ contact page includes Relay UK and SignVideo (BSL) options. Follow the official links for access and current availability.
Step 1: make the initial complaint
Choose the contact route that fits how you purchased the item. For a home-delivery complaint, have the order number ready before starting chat or calling. For a collection problem, keep the collection message and store receipt together.
- Say whether the complaint concerns delivery, collection, a return or an agreed refund.
- Give the order or receipt reference and the dates of any missed delivery or previous contact.
- Explain the action you want Argos to take and ask for confirmation of any agreed next step.
After a call or store visit, note who you spoke to and what was agreed. Save chat replies so that a later follow-up can refer to the actual response.
Step 2: escalate an unresolved complaint
The Argos complaint FAQ directs customers to the contact methods; the pages checked do not identify a separate general order-complaint escalation team or dedicated complaint email.
If the first response does not settle the matter, contact Argos again with your order number, the date of the complaint and the unresolved point. Ask whether a manager or another colleague can review the decision. That is a practical request, not a promised escalation service.
If you prefer to set out the history in writing, use the postal address above. For store matters, explain the store decision when you contact customer service. Use the current contact page rather than email addresses or older phone numbers found elsewhere.
Information and evidence to have ready
- Order number, receipt and whether the item was delivered or collected.
- Delivery booking or collection confirmation, including store location where relevant.
- Previous chat messages or a dated note of calls and store visits.
- Proof of a return, refund confirmation and the amount still outstanding.
- A clear account of what you want reviewed and the result you are requesting.
Common Argos order, parcel and refund complaints
- Home delivery complaint: keep the booking details separate from the complaint history; Argos non-delivery guidance covers the delivery problem itself.
- Collection or store issue: identify the collection location and receipt. Use the official store route above to explain the decision you want reviewed.
- Missing contents or damage: name the product and document what arrived. See missing-item help or damage during delivery.
- Refund refused: separate a disputed refusal from an agreed refund still pending; refund-refusal guidance can help with the wording.
