AliExpress Parcel Not Delivered: What to Do if Your Order Has Not Arrived in the UK
AliExpress is a marketplace with many third-party and overseas sellers. That means you should use the AliExpress order-level refund/dispute route first, keep all messages inside the platform, and save evidence before the order or seller page changes.
| AliExpress delivery problem | What to do now |
|---|---|
| Order has not arrived | Save the order, tracking, estimated delivery date and seller messages, then use AliExpress refund/dispute. |
| Cainiao tracking stuck | Save Cainiao tracking and check whether there is a local UK courier tracking number. |
| Tracking says with local delivery company | Check Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Yodel, InPost or the named courier if shown. |
| Seller says wait longer | Ask for proof of handover, courier route and a clear refund position if it does not arrive. |
AliExpress disputes often turn on screenshots. Save the order page, tracking timeline, seller messages, local courier evidence and any AliExpress refund/dispute result before the status changes or the order is archived.
A strong complaint should include your AliExpress order number, seller name, tracking evidence, Cainiao/local courier screenshots, messages, refund attempt and the outcome you want.
Start My AliExpress Missing Parcel Letter One-time £2.99 · No subscription · Instant documentAn AliExpress parcel not delivered dispute can be awkward because the order may move through AliExpress tracking, Cainiao, customs, linehaul, a local delivery partner, and then a UK courier such as Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Yodel, InPost, DHL, UPS or another last-mile service. The seller may say it was shipped, while local tracking may say the parcel was never received.
Your aim is to build a clean evidence trail: what you ordered, when it should have arrived, what the tracking actually says, whether the seller can prove handover, whether any UK courier has the parcel, and what refund or replacement you are requesting.
First checks if your AliExpress order has not arrived
- Open the AliExpress order page. Screenshot the order number, item, seller, price, delivery address and order status.
- Save the estimated delivery date. This helps show when the order became late.
- Screenshot AliExpress tracking. Save the full timeline, not just the current status.
- Check Cainiao tracking. Cainiao describes its tracking as a one-stop tracking service for Cainiao and AliExpress packages.
- Look for a local tracking number. Some international parcels get a separate last-mile number after reaching the UK.
- Check the named UK courier if shown. Use Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Yodel, InPost, DHL, Parcelforce, UPS or FedEx tracking as relevant.
- Message the seller inside AliExpress. Ask for physical handover proof and the exact courier route.
- Use AliExpress refund/dispute. Select the package-not-received or item-not-received reason where available.
AliExpress tracking not updating
If AliExpress tracking has not updated, save the status and date. Common statuses can include waiting for seller dispatch, outbound from warehouse, linehaul, customs, arrived at destination country, handed to local delivery company, unsuccessful delivery, returned, or no recent update.
Cainiao’s tracking site says it provides tracking for Cainiao and AliExpress packages. Cainiao’s FAQ also says its site does not support non-Cainiao or non-AliExpress parcels and tells users to turn to the carrier’s official website or another tracking site for those parcels. That matters because once a parcel is handed to a UK last-mile courier, the local courier page may show extra evidence.
AliExpress “handed to local delivery company” in the UK
“Handed to local delivery company” does not always tell you who has the parcel. Look for another tracking number, carrier name, or last-mile status. If you identify the UK courier, use the matching guide:
- Evri tracking not updating
- Royal Mail tracking not updating
- DPD tracking not updating
- Yodel tracking not updating
- InPost tracking not updating
- DHL tracking not updating
- Parcelforce tracking not updating
If the UK courier says it has not received the parcel, save that screenshot. It can help rebut a seller who says the parcel is already with the local delivery company.
AliExpress seller says the parcel was shipped
A tracking number is not always enough. Ask the seller for proof that the parcel was physically handed to the logistics provider, the shipping method used, the dispatch date, and whether there is a separate UK last-mile tracking number.
If the seller only says “please wait” but the estimated delivery date has passed or tracking has stalled, reply with a clear evidence-led request. Ask whether they will support a refund if the order cannot be delivered by a specific date.
AliExpress refund or dispute if the parcel is not delivered
Use the AliExpress order-level refund or dispute route rather than relying only on messages to the seller. Choose the closest package-not-received, item-not-received, logistics problem or non-delivery reason shown in the app or website.
Attach evidence such as:
- AliExpress order screenshot;
- AliExpress tracking timeline;
- Cainiao tracking screenshot;
- UK courier tracking screenshot;
- seller messages;
- estimated delivery date; and
- proof that the local courier has not delivered or cannot locate the parcel.
AliExpress order late past the estimated delivery date
If the estimated date has passed, screenshot it and ask for a specific outcome. For low-value orders, AliExpress may push you through the platform refund/dispute flow. For higher-value orders, make sure your evidence is much stronger before escalating.
If the seller asks you to wait longer, do not simply agree without checking the order protection/refund timing shown in your AliExpress account. Save the countdowns, support messages and dispute options visible on your order.
AliExpress says delivered but you have not received it
That is a different dispute. If AliExpress or the UK courier says delivered, save the delivered scan, delivery photo, signature, safe-place note, neighbour detail, GPS/location wording and address evidence.
Use the next dedicated guide, AliExpress says delivered but not received, once published. You can also use parcel marked delivered but not received, tracking says delivered but no proof, or delivery photo not my house.
Can UK consumer rights help with AliExpress?
If you bought from a business to be delivered, Citizens Advice says the seller is responsible for making sure the item is delivered, and if the seller used a courier, the seller should chase the courier. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods remain at the trader’s risk until they come into the consumer’s physical possession or someone identified by the consumer.
However, AliExpress can involve overseas sellers and marketplace terms, so practical enforcement can be harder than with a UK retailer. That is why your first practical route is usually AliExpress refund/dispute, followed by payment-provider escalation if the platform route fails.
Can you use chargeback for an AliExpress parcel not delivered?
Chargeback may help if you paid by debit or credit card and AliExpress or the seller refuses to resolve a non-delivered order. Your bank will usually want evidence that you paid, the parcel was not delivered, and you tried to resolve it through AliExpress first.
Use our chargeback for missing parcel guide. If you paid by credit card and the cash price was over £100 and not more than £30,000, check whether Section 75 for missing parcels could apply, but note that marketplace/payment structures can make Section 75 more complicated.
Evidence to save for an AliExpress parcel not delivered dispute
Save evidence before the tracking changes, the seller edits the listing, or the dispute window becomes harder to use.
| Evidence | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| AliExpress order screenshot | Shows order number, seller, item, price, date and delivery address. |
| Product page and seller name | Useful if the listing or seller page disappears. |
| AliExpress tracking timeline | Shows the platform status and whether the order is delayed or stuck. |
| Cainiao tracking screenshot | Useful for international handoff and AliExpress logistics evidence. |
| UK courier tracking screenshot | Shows whether the parcel reached Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Yodel, InPost or another courier. |
| Estimated delivery date | Shows when the order became late. |
| Seller messages | Shows whether the seller investigated, delayed, refused or blamed the courier. |
| AliExpress dispute/refund screenshots | Shows the platform route used and any decision made. |
| Local courier confirmation | Useful if the UK courier says it has not received or cannot locate the parcel. |
| Payment proof | Useful for chargeback, PayPal or Section 75 escalation. |
Short message to send if your AliExpress parcel has not arrived
Use this as a short first message to the seller or AliExpress support. Keep the full formal complaint for your paid ParcelClaim letter.
Subject: AliExpress order not delivered
Hello, my AliExpress order has not been delivered. The order number is [order number], the seller is [seller name], and the tracking number is [tracking number]. The estimated delivery date was [date], but the latest tracking status is “[status]” from [date/time].
Please confirm whether the parcel has been physically handed to the courier, which carrier currently has it, whether there is a local UK tracking number, and whether you will support a refund or replacement if the order cannot be delivered.
This is starter wording only. A stronger ParcelClaim letter should include your full timeline, tracking screenshots, seller replies, AliExpress dispute result, local courier evidence and requested resolution.

- Screenshot the AliExpress order. Order number, seller, item, price and delivery address.
- Save all tracking. AliExpress, Cainiao and any UK courier page.
- Ask the seller for handover proof. Do not rely on a tracking number alone.
- Use AliExpress refund/dispute. Choose package not received or the closest reason shown.
- Attach evidence clearly. Tracking screenshots, seller replies, local courier proof and delivery estimate.
- Escalate if refused. Chargeback, PayPal dispute if used, Section 75 where relevant, or formal written complaint.
- Keep the delivered-scan route separate. If it says delivered, use a proof-dispute page instead.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Waiting without saving screenshots. AliExpress order and dispute screens can change.
- Only messaging the seller. Use the order-level AliExpress refund/dispute route too.
- Ignoring Cainiao or local tracking. You need both international and UK handoff evidence.
- Letting the seller delay until your options narrow. Keep an eye on account deadlines and refund/dispute options.
- Using the wrong dispute type. “Not delivered” and “delivered but not received” need different evidence.
- Buying high-value goods without payment protection. If the platform refuses, your bank/payment provider may be your next route.

AliExpress parcel not delivered FAQs
What should I do if my AliExpress parcel has not been delivered?
Screenshot the AliExpress order, seller name, estimated delivery date, tracking number and status. Check Cainiao and any UK courier tracking page, message the seller inside AliExpress, and use the AliExpress refund or dispute route if the order cannot be delivered.
What if AliExpress tracking is stuck?
Save the AliExpress tracking and Cainiao tracking timeline. If it says arrived in the destination country, handed to local delivery, awaiting customs, at linehaul, or with the local delivery company, check whether there is a UK courier tracking number and save that result too.
Who delivers AliExpress parcels in the UK?
AliExpress parcels can be handed to different UK delivery companies depending on the seller, shipping method and logistics route. Check the AliExpress, Cainiao and local tracking information rather than assuming one courier.
Can I get a refund if an AliExpress order never arrives?
Use the AliExpress order-level refund or dispute route and provide evidence that the parcel has not arrived, such as tracking screenshots, seller messages and any local courier confirmation. If the platform refuses, payment-provider escalation may be worth considering.
What if the AliExpress seller says wait longer?
Ask for a clear explanation, valid tracking, courier handover proof and whether they will support a refund if the parcel does not arrive by the delivery deadline. Do not let the refund/dispute window pass without saving evidence.
What if AliExpress says delivered but I did not receive it?
That is a delivered-not-received proof dispute. Save the delivered scan, courier proof, delivery photo, signature, safe-place note or address evidence and use a delivered-but-not-received route.
Can I use chargeback for an AliExpress parcel not delivered?
Chargeback may help if you paid by debit or credit card and AliExpress or the seller refuses to resolve a non-delivered order. Your bank will usually want order details, tracking, seller/platform messages and evidence that you tried to resolve it first.
What evidence should I save?
Save the order number, seller name, product page, payment proof, AliExpress tracking, Cainiao tracking, local courier tracking, estimated delivery date, delivery address, seller messages, dispute/refund screenshots and any courier confirmation that the parcel has not been delivered.
